Jr.-Sr. High Early Dismissal Policy

Doctor appointments, family trips, motor vehicle tests, etc., should generally be scheduled after school hours. If your child must miss part of the school day, he/she should:

  1. Arrange to come into the Health/Attendance Office for his/her dismissal. Or-
  2. Bring a dismissal note from home. This note must include a phone number where you can be contacted to verify the dismissal, the date and the purpose of dismissal, and a parent’s signature. Or-
  3. The parent should phone the Attendance Office to request dismissal. A valid reason for dismissal is necessary. The Health/Attendance Office will take down the phone number and return the call to confirm parental contact. The phone number is 546-3301, ext. 102.

It should be noted that all dismissal excuses will be verified.

If your child feels he/she must be dismissed from school due to illness, he/she must report to the nurse’s office. The school nurse will determine if a student should be dismissed.

This procedure must be followed regardless of the time a student arrives at school - even if they arrive before the school day has started at 8:12.

Students with early dismissal should leave school grounds immediately.
