Welcome to Moriah Junior/Senior High School

Moriah Jr./Sr. High School is comprised of grades 7 – 12.  There is a 7th and 8th grade junior high program and a 9 – 12 high school curriculum.  With fewer than 400 students, we are a small rural school in the Adirondacks, close to Lake Champlain and near the Vermont border.  Because we are a small school, we tend to know our students quite well and are usually able to meet their individual needs in diverse ways.

Moriah Central School is noted for its strong football program.  The 2008 season ended with the Varsity Football Team having a perfect season, earning the titles for sectional and regional champs.  The team won every game as it worked its way to the Syracuse Dome to compete for the state championship.  Although the number one spot in the state was not to be Moriah’s, the entire school and community know the Vikings as a team with determination, hard work, and good sportsmanship who gave all of us a season that will go down in the history books as one of the most exciting ever.

Upon completion of our current building project, the high school will have brand new lockers, a larger library, a renovated science classroom, an improved Family and Consumer Science classroom, new risers, lighting, and sound system in the auditorium, updated offices for the nurse, guidance department, and high school, as well as a new security system within the school, fitness center, additional parking, and improvement of the athletic fields.
